FICUS BINNENDIJKII
FICUS AMSTEL KING

A long-leaved, architectural tree that reads as sculpture. Composed, confident, and designed to live with you permanently.
Luminous,
not harsh.
The Amstel King thrives in bright, indirect light — a generously lit room where sunlight fills the space but never hits the plant directly. A south- or west-facing room with a sheer curtain, or a spot a few feet from a large window, is ideal. Consistent, plentiful light means more robust, upright growth.
Read the plant,
not the calendar.
Press your finger two inches into the soil before watering — if it still feels damp, hold off. The Amstel King prefers to dry out slightly between waterings. Consistent overwatering is far more damaging than the occasional dry spell.
Stable conditions,
happy tree.
Choose its spot thoughtfully and commit to it. Like all Ficus, the Amstel King is sensitive to sudden changes — being moved, placed near vents, or exposed to cold drafts can trigger leaf drop. Once settled into a stable environment between 60°F and 85°F, it is remarkably easygoing.
Architectural presence, effortless integration.
Its long, pendulous leaves and upright silhouette work beautifully as a singular focal point or anchoring a layered grouping. Pair it with a ceramic or stone planter in warm neutral tones — sand, terracotta, or matte charcoal — to let the plant's natural texture lead.
